AMONG THE SECRETS OF THE HISTORICAL VILLAGE OF VOsNe-ROMANEe IS A COUPLE OF FABRICE AND CHRISTINE VIGOt

Behind their modest demeanor and restraint lies their incredible talent and influence on some of Vosne's most famous Pinot Noir wines.
Most Burgundy wine collectors should know the name Mugneret-Gibourg. In the 1960s, Father Fabrice Vigot was hired by Dr. Georges Muniré to take care of his valuable vineyards under a crop-sharing agreement, including Grand Cru Echezeaux and sites in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanee. The contract was handed over to Fabrice, who, together with his wife Christina, continued his father's work.

Domaine Vigot
Every great Burgundy wine starts with the vineyard. And the fact that Burgundy wines Mugneret-Gibourg have become a legend is not news to anyone; but that the foundation on which this legend stands was actually built by a humble couple of winemakers in the future, is a kind of inside knowledge that should greatly thrill the true wine collector. Moreover, now these wines are available fot you.
Fabrice and Christine established their own estate in 1990, combining part of the Fabrice family's land in Vosne - Romenee and Nuits-Saint-Georges with the vineyards that Christine inherited from her family in Gevrey-Chambertin.

Caring for their small acres according to organic principles (with a later accent on biodynamics), Fabrice and Christine create Burgundy wines that are soulful and crystal clear to their underlying terroir. It is important to note that each of their sites with older vines perform much better than their station; each approaching the level of Grand Cru quality year after year.
However, for the 2016 harvest, the Vigots had to terminate their crop-sharing agreement with the Mugneret family as a series of low-yield harvests topped off by a 2016 frost pushed them into a painful but necessary financial choice. Today, the family grows only its own vineyards of about six acres in the areas of Vosne - Romanee, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin.
