Coessens
The family highly values traditions, but combines it with modern technology. Coessens wines come from the village of Ville-sur-Ars, from a single vineyard called Largillier. After all, the main thing about the vineyard is its terroir.

AFTER WORKING FOR A MAJOR CHAMPAGNE WINE HOUSE, IN 2006 COESSENS DECIDEDTO CREATE THE COESSENS DOMAIN.

He adds that it is a 6-hectare plot planted with Pinot Noir called Largillier. In 2011, the Cossens family carried out several excavations and found that the Largilier layer is characterized as a Kimmeridgian. It has a direct impact on the taste of wine.

The ground here has variable layers of clay. The presence of chalk layers improves and mineralizes the roots, the combination of chalk and clay in the soil is not fertile, because of this, the energy and speed of development of the vine is limited.

Another great feature of Largiller is careful selection. Once Jérôme noticed that there are always 4 types of wine he can produce, he named each of them according to the plot where it was grown.
It is MINERAL, FRUIT, FLOWER and ORGANIC.
In this way, we can get a unique geological purity from each vineyard.

Largillier vines are unique and exceptional vintage vines, producing between 2,000 and 8,000 bottles per year, depending on the plot.
